This is a test to evaluate areas of possible infection or inflammation in soft tissue or bone.
- Allow 2 days as there is a 48 hour break between the injection and the imaging. During that time there are no restrictions and you do not need to stay in the department. Imaging normally takes approximately 1.5 hours.
- No preparation required – you may eat, drink and dress normally.
- Continue to take your normal medications.
- Bring any relevant scans or X-rays.
